How Long Does a Phone Screen Repair Take?

Most phone screen repairs take 20–60 minutes. Here's the actual timeframe by device type, and what can make a repair take longer.

If you need your phone back quickly, here's a realistic answer on how long a screen repair actually takes.

Typical repair times by device

  • iPhone (common models — 8, X, 11, 12, 13 series): 20–40 minutes on-site
  • iPhone 14 and 15 series: 30–50 minutes — slightly more involved disassembly
  • Samsung Galaxy A-series: 25–40 minutes
  • Samsung Galaxy S-series: 30–55 minutes — OLED panels require more care during installation
  • iPad (standard models): 45–75 minutes — larger, glued displays take longer
  • Android mid-range (various brands): 25–45 minutes

These are on-site times with parts already in hand.

What can make a repair take longer

A few things can extend the job beyond typical times:

  • Prior repair damage: If a previous repair was done badly, stripped screws or broken clips slow down access to the screen assembly.
  • Adhesive residue: Some phone models use heavy adhesive that requires careful heat and work to remove cleanly.
  • Secondary damage discovered during repair: Occasionally a drop that cracked the screen also damaged something internally — a battery that's slightly swollen, or a connector that's shifted. We'll always stop and discuss before proceeding.
  • Older or less common models: Less common models we haven't worked on recently may take an extra few minutes to work through carefully.

Parts availability

We order parts per job rather than holding stock. For common iPhone and Samsung models, parts arrive next business day. If you message us the model and issue, we can confirm availability and book you in for the day after parts arrive.

Mobile repair vs. dropping off at a shop

When you factor in travel time to a shop, waiting, and travel back, a mobile repair done at your home in 40 minutes is usually faster than the drop-off alternative — even if the shop has a comparable repair time.
